New Democrat Foreign Affairs Critic demands Abdelrazik's immediate repatriation

Harper turns his back on Canadians abroad. Citizens like Abousfian Abdelrazik deserve assistance

“It is shameful that Harper is turning his back on Abousfian Abdelrazik, a Canadian citizen abandoned in Sudan. Harper’s government has repeatedly promised help for Abdelrazik but he still hasn’t been given the emergency travel documents he needs to come home,” said New Democrat Foreign Affairs Critic Paul Dewar.

"A flight reservation for Mr. Abdelrazik has been booked for September 15. The government now has a chance to rectify its inexcusable delays of leaving a Canadian in legal limbo for years. This is yet another example of Stephen Harper neglecting Canadians stuck abroad. Mr. Harper's government is engaged in selective citizenship,” continued Dewar.

“We are demanding the immediate assistance by the government and the immediate return of Mr. Abdelrazik to Canada.”
